Happy New Year 2011!
Here, I'm going to finish my daily meme, and later - as in, after that - I'm going to post my music meme!
Day 19 → A talent of yours I fancy myself a writer. Day 20 → A hobby of yours Tabletop roleplaying games. Day 21 → A recipe See blog entry for Christmas Eve on my Suicide Girls profile. Day 22 → A website http://www.wired.com/listening_post/2008/04/a-scientific-at/ < ---- YES. Day 23 → A YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj8nyhZNogY Day 24 → Whatever tickles your fancy I like ducks. Day 25 → Your day, in great detail I woke up early, ate some fish, went to the store, got home, and felt sick. I deduced that it was the fish that was making me sick, as it was tuna, and I had had a similar reaction to tuna months prior. I also downloaded some SG sets, watched some Primeval, helped make pizza, ordered calendars, and am now watching more Primeval and waiting for the New Year's ball drop so I can follow my resolutions that I have set for myself this coming year - 2011. Day 26 → Your week, in great detail Oh good gracious me... I started watching Primeval again, modded my Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games, planned a mod of my own to make, downloaded Suicide Girls sets, got sick, played World of WarCraft, requested information from my local colleges, and then ordered calendars. Day 27 → This month, in great detail Curling up under my heating blanket, watching The Adventures of Sinbad, gambled, and wrote a little bit. Day 28 → This year, in great detail I went job hunting. The jobs evaded me. I got extremely sick from eating penicillin or penicillium and ended up changing my diet to something actually healthy compared to what I had been eating. I discovered Whole Foods, cut my gorgeous mane of hair, and wrote. Day 29 → Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days Improve my health, learn more, apply myself to my studies once I am in classes, perhaps find another job, read more, write more, move away from this depressing swamp, play more play-by-post Dungeons & Dragons games, get started on my Infinity Engine modding, and subscribe to Suicide Girls for a little longer. Maybe subscribe to Met-Art, or that website the one model I have a huge crush on that used to pose for Met-Art is now on. Day 30 → Whatever tickles your fancy http://www.headphet.org/

Day 08 → A photo that makes you angry/sad What a bunch of dweebs. I was one of those dweebs, but they were dweebier dweebs. Day 09 → A photo you took My sister drawrd this. Day 10 → A photo of you taken over ten years ago This field left blank. I really don't feel like digging through all the damn boxes in the apartment just to show the internet a picture of a bloated child who wouldn't smile for the camera, and refused to laugh at the woman taking my picture's nose on the grounds that it wasn't nice. It wasn't nice. Would you like me to laugh at your nose? Doubtful. Day 11 → A photo of you taken recently I just taked it. Bonus: My hair getting cut! Day 12 → Whatever tickles your fancy I think Connor MacLeod is more badass than Duncan MacLeod. Duncan might look more badass, but imagine working at an ice cream shop, and seeing Connnor come in. He'd be all like, "Hello, I'd like a chocolate fudge sundae." ...and then he narrows his eyes like he means some serious fucking business... "With sprinkles. And almonds." Day 13 → A fictional book Swords & Deviltry, by Fritz Leiber Day 14 → A non-fictional book Wise Words and Quotes, by Vern McLellan Day 15 → A fanfic Gilligan's Island: Passion Fruit Day 16 → A song that makes you cry (or nearly) "I Love You Always Forever", by Donna Lewis. It's happy, but things that make me happy also sometimes make me sad. Day 17 → An art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.) Milk Crate. I drawrd him with my eyes closed :3 Day 18 → Whatever tickles your fancy I'm going to post a poem I wrote for the prettiest actress ever, Rhonda McHardy. Roses are red, Violets are blue, Sugar is sweet, And you have pretty eyes GRUNT: state: LOGIN_STATE_FAILED result: LOGIN_FAILED.

Hospital interview.
So yeah I went for my interview at the hospital on Monday and to say that it went well would be a lie. I was reminded the entire time that the woman interviewing me was in a hurry, and whenever I was asked a question, almost immediately in the middle of an answer she cut me off and went right on to the next one. She told me that she'd forward all my information to human resources and blah blah blah, wait a week or two. She also told me that my answers would be repeated to human resources, verbatim. I didn't get the job, which, you know, would have severely disappointed me if I hadn't come to expect this sort of shit. How do I know this? I got an e-mail. I have half a mind to send a reply back, telling them that I'm sorry I didn't provide satisfactory answers and that next time I'd come up with a really neat way to squeeze about twenty seconds worth of talking into five. I know we're in an economic downturn and all this shit, but this is fucking ridiculous. To make matters worse, my mother had a lovely story: she was shopping at a Bealls a couple of weeks ago when she saw these three people talking: a manager and two workers. The manager was telling one worker one thing, while the other worker was translating into Spanish what the manager had said for the other worker. You cannot tell me that the person having being spoon-fed instructions was a legal United States citizen, especially in this part of Florida. My uncle also had an account of a woman who started working where he does, who didn't know a word of English. This is a woman who had been living here for five years. What the fuck? The last time I checked, the United States was an English-speaking country. How is it that a legal citizen who speaks fluent English gets turned down for employment, where somebody who provided false documentation and doesn't speak a word of English gets hired?! Whose dick do I have to suck to get a job here? Rant. Fucking. Over.

Thirty-day meme.
So Rose or whatever her name is copied this from her friend, and I decided to copy it from her since she's kind of my friend even though I've only talked to her once or twice since picking her name off of the list of users online at GamingForce back in August 2003.
Day 01 → Your favorite song I Love You Always Forever, by Donna Lewis Day 02 → Your favorite movie Army of Darkness Day 03 → Your favorite television program Hercules: The Legendary Journeys Day 04 → Your favorite book The Children of Húrin Day 05 → Your favorite quote Day 06 → Whatever tickles your fancy Day 07 → A photo that makes you happy Day 08 → A photo that makes you angry/sad Day 09 → A photo you took Day 10 → A photo of you taken over ten years ago Day 11 → A photo of you taken recently Day 12 → Whatever tickles your fancy Day 13 → A fictional book Day 14 → A non-fictional book Day 15 → A fanfic Day 16 → A song that makes you cry (or nearly) Day 17 → An art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.) Day 18 → Whatever tickles your fancy Day 19 → A talent of yours Day 20 → A hobby of yours Day 21 → A recipe Day 22 → A website Day 23 → A YouTube video Day 24 → Whatever tickles your fancy Day 25 → Your day, in great detail Day 26 → Your week, in great detail Day 27 → This month, in great detail Day 28 → This year, in great detail Day 29 → Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days Day 30 → Whatever tickles your fancy

Fucking damn it.
I found out today that my uncle got hired for the job at First Watch. You know, the one I applied to. Yeah, he applied to it last week after bitching at me to apply for it. And he bragged about it to me, too. So now I have no job, and he has two. He doesn't need another job now, he's paid off his fines and he's paying for his fucking DUI classes. He did it just to be a spiteful redneck asshole. What good will come of this, is that once he's finished with his classes he'll be leaving. I won't have to listen to him call blacks "niggers", other people "faggots", nor will I have to listen to him talk shit about my mother, who let him stay with her for free so that he wouldn't be on the streets - where, if you were to ask my opinion, he belongs. I won't have to listen to him call people or ideas that he dislikes "gay" or "retarded", and nor will I have to listen to him tell me to cook brown rice in chicken grease. So I lost a potential job, but I will gain peace of mind.

Walk.
So today I went on a walk. I went to the bank, and nearly got hit by this dickhead who turned right when the fucking light for the walk sign went white - indicating that I may walk. I wanted to ask the bank to please fix the problem with my account that wouldn't have happened if they weren't dipshits when they created my account four years ago, but it was closed. I still put money in it via ATM. I also went to Publix and changed in some change, and then Walgreen's, where I bought some Astroglide and incense. Then I walked back home.

Land O' Lakes butter commercials.
I remember these commercials for some butter, I think Land O' Lakes butter. It had this man and his wife talking about stuff over a tub of butter and some bread, with a butter knife, on a table. You could see their hands, but nothing else. They would talk about how awesome butter was, or how they were expecting children, or how they were expecting children made of butter and how awesome that was.
I hated those commercials.
In other news, I'm watching The Adventures of Sinbad. And the expression on this one background actress' face just made my day: It's the one with the dark hair, that's rolling her eyes. I'm going to make that into an icon because it's just so damn funny. Background lady, wherever you are, I wish you well. You have the beautifullest eyeroll I've ever seen. Had I the power, I would launch a thousand ships at the roll of your eyes.
For each forgotten kiss For all the memories For all the times a look Said all we had to say
You played your part so well A modern Romeo You came on Cupid's wings And then you flew away
When you rolled your eyes When you called my name I burned with desire
When you rolled your eyes When you called my name I burned with desire But you left me in the rain
For every sleepless night Forever in your arms For every hour spent Lost in the reverie
You broke your promises No shame and no regrets You burned the bridges too An endless mystery
When you rolled your eyes So beautiful When you called my name My name.. I burned with desire
When you rolled your eyes So beautiful When you called my name My name.. I burned with desire But you left me in the rain
When you rolled your eyes So beautiful When you called my name My name.. I burned with desire
When you rolled your eyes When you called my name I burned with desire But you left me in the rain
I even butchered an Armin Van Buuren song for you, and made the Journal icon that I promised!

Jorbs.
So today I applied at First Watch for a dishwashing job, and then at the NCH Healthcare thing as a cafeteria worker. More later, as I also beat Baldur's Gate yesterday and had a gay old time editing the balls out of the file I impotred into Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. Being me, I installed mods onto both of my installs, both of which received a tweak pack from Gibberlings Three. One thing I installed into both from one such tweak pack was an experience point cap remover. ...Baldur's Gate can only recognise up to 89,000 experience points before it goes "Forget it, you've reached the max"; Baldur's Gate & Tales of the Sword Coast, 161,000. I had over 200,000 on my main character, "only" 161,000 of which was recognized. An edit later, I was back to being broken and cool.

So today.
So yesterday I got up pretty early to go apply for jobs, and went to RadioShack, where I was told to apply online. Apparently my uncle thinks you can get a job in this job market by just walking in somewhere and applying. I went to humor him. I also went because I wanted to go to Whole Foods. For those of you at home, this is not the case. If you want a job, you apply online and hope - nay, pray - that they call you in for an interview. And don't give me any shit about jobs being as easy to get now as they were four or five years ago. So instead of wasting more time looking for job application forms that no longer physically existed, my mother and I went to Whole Foods - which we were going to go to, anyways. There, I bought some Grapefruit Seed Extract, blood orange and pomegranate-flavoured pop, and two loaves of millet bread. She got some chocolate, steel-cut oats, and these bitchin' bars made out of dates, covered with shredded coconuts. Then we went thrift shopping and I bought two DragonLance novels and she got clothing. Then we went to Walgreen's and I bought K-Y Jelly. I got a free coupon for $5.00 off of a bunch of different varieties. I'm going to leave the coupon behind at the next Walgreen's I go to, in the personal lubricant aisle, as I do not have any need for more than one tube. Of lube. I tested the jelly on my arm before, well, you know... I bought it for, aside from the more obvious reasons, seeing how it affected my skin. I have a multitude of allergies, and while I wouldn't exactly be embarassed if I had to go to the doctor because of a personal infection, I would probably be in quite a bit of pain. Thankfully, a test-application on my arm did not harm me, and that's a good sign. So yeah, anyways, about the Grapefruit Seed Extract: it's a good antifungal. I had some build-up of candida or something in my system and it was making me absolutely miserable, but two doses of Grapefruit Seed Extract later - fifteen drops in eight ounces (8 oz.) of water - I felt great. I also got a lead on a really good job from my mother's coworker.

Illinois.
I haven't updated this journal in a while with any actual entries, but since I took a week and a half trip to Rockford, Illinois, with my mother, what I have to say should more than make up for the lack of content.
